Ice Cube Has Reportedly Backed Out Of A $9 Million Movie Paycheck Over His Refusal To Get The COVID-19 Vaccine

As reported by Fox News, the singer and actor was supposed to star alongside Jack Black in the Sony comedy “Oh Hell No,” but according to a report from the Hollywood Reporter, he decided to give up the job instead of going along with production’s vaccine mandate.

He initially agreed to star in the film in June with the expectation that it would shoot this winter in Hawaii. The film’s production, however, was reportedly pushed back because of Black’s injury while filming a different movie.

Sources told the outlet that Ice Cube turned away a $9 million paycheck.

While Ice Cube is reluctant to get the vaccine, he’s been a strong advocate for wearing masks. He unveiled a brand of “Check Yo Self Before You Wreck Yo Self” t-shirts that showed him in a mask to benefit frontline workers. He also donated PPE, including 2,000 face masks, to Bacon College in August.
