John Bishop Could Be Forced To Present His Chat Show Over Zoom Should He Test Positive For Covid During Its Six-Week Run

The comedian is gearing up to front The John Bishop Show, a brand new Saturday night series on ITV set to launch this Saturday following The Masked Singer and Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win.

Each week John will open the programme with a topical stand-up routine and then chat to some very special celebrity guests. Star interviewees will include the hottest names in film, TV, sport, music, and more that’s if they don’t come down with the virus either.

‘We record the show on the day that it goes out,’ John told ‘The difficulty with doing it now is whoever you’ve booked could disappear.

‘Somebody they’ve been in the post office with could test positive so all of a sudden everything gets thrown up in the air.’

‘In fact, that gives me a great niche in that I could just list everybody. I could say Barack Obama and Adele will appear,’ he joked.

But what should happen if John tests positive for Covid?

‘The Zoom show,’ he said. ‘You know what, it’s very hard. We’ve got loads of rules, like every production has, about Covid, but you can only do so much, can’t you?

‘You’ve either got to commit to doing it and trying and see where we go.’

It comes after the UK recorded nearly 160,000 new Covid cases on Monday, as Omicron continues to spread rapidly across the country.

A further 42 people were also confirmed to have died with the virus on January 3.

The 157,758 new daily infections represents a 45% increase on a week ago – but is a slight drop compared to last week’s highs.
