Eddie Howe Has Thanked Newcastle United Fans For Their Phenomenal Support Again

The magnificent Geordie faifthul turned up the volume as the Magpies found themselves 3-0 down and effectively out of the game and at 4-0 going into stoppage time, the Gallowgate End were still outsinging the Man City supporters.

It left Howe taken aback, he said in his Press conference: “I just want them to know it’s not taken for granted.

“It’s not an easy emotion for me because I want to give them success, points, victories and performances they can be proud of.

“I really do value their support. The players needed that today.”

Howe found himself fielding questions about another refereeing episode just days after Mike Dean’s comical showing at Anfield.

This time West Yorkshire whistler Martin Atkinson failed to give a penalty for a foul on Ederson.

Howe said: “I’m not the type of manager that looks for excuses or looks to blame the officials but it’s another clear big moment in the game that has gone against us.

“I’m shaking my head at it. The goalkeeper is out of control, he’s wiped Ryan Fraser out.

“It’s a stonewall penalty. How VAR hasn’t intervened is a really strange one for me.

“I think there’s been one in every game.

“At that stage, we were well in the match and you don’t know what can happen beyond that point.”
